Tindaya House 1 . The Project
Valerie and Dominique’s plot of land in Tindaya was almost perfect - stunning views, but exposed to the wind, something normal in Fuerteventura. Initially, the home was going to be a second residence, so the space was configured with this purpose in mind: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living-room and kitchen and a large, outdoor covered terrace, from which one can enjoy the sea view.
The design challenge was to ensure that all the rooms and the terrace benefitted from the view, but were also protected from the strong winds. Together with the owners, I created a first draft based on a semi circular layout with 95 m2 of living space plus 96 m2 of terrace. The architect expanded upon our initial plans and her final final design was magnificent. Within the house, she provided separate private areas for the owner as well as potential guests and incorporated a built in barbecue on the terrace.
